Harvest Festival

Our Harvest service takes place on Sunday 29th September. This year all donated goods will be split between two local charities, the North Bradford Foodbank and Caring for Life. Both are great organisations that do a lot of good work in the communities in which they’re based. If you’d like to support us as we support them then these are the goods they’re looking for.

Freedom!

We’ve got a new banner going up on the outside of our church today. This is a quote from 2 Corinthians chapter 3, and it reminds us that when we accept Jesus Christ into our lives, when we receive the Holy Spirit therefore we are truly free. This is because we are no longer bound by sin and death. Christ died so that we might receive eternal life. Amen!

Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Freedom

Jesus said: I am the Light of the World

A new Banner should be going up on the outside of Church this week. This quote comes from John’s Gospel chapter 8; it is a reminder that no matter what we have going on in our lives Jesus is always there. That even in the midst of total darkness, even when we have sunk down into the deepest darkest despair we could possibly imagine He is there. Jesus provides the light we need to find our way back out into the sunshine.

New Banner

A new Banner has gone up on the outside of our church this weekend. As everyone starts thinking about their summer holidays and time away from work or School, time to relax away from all those pressures which we live with in our day to day lives we encourage you to Be still and know God is with you.

New Painting

Our Senior Pastor, Rev Ashley Evans, is part-way through a sabbatical period at the moment. He’s using part of his time to do some painting and here’s his latest one. This is all about Walking the walk. Searching, seeking, asking & praying. (Seek and ye shall find- Luke 11:5).

To find out more about what Ashley is up to then head on over to our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/boltonvillaschurch/.

Roadworks

If you’re planning on visiting either Bolton Villas or Refreshed this coming week then please be aware that Bradford Council are re-tarmacking Livingstone Road on 1st, 2nd and 3rd July.

Gap Year Scheme

In partnership with Bradford Christian youth charity e:merge, we’re offering the opportunity to undertake a gap year with Bolton Villas and e:merge working with children and young people both in our local community and in the wider Bradford area.

To find out more contact e:merge (details in the advert below) or email our Youth Pastor [email protected].

We’re now live!

As Phase 1 of our new website is now very nearly finished we’ve decided it’s time to unleash it to the world! There are still a couple of bits to be added but those should be done soon.

This all means that when you search for Bolton Villas Google should hopefully start returning this website instead of our Facebook page (although that’s not disappearing). We will then start the mammoth task of advertising our new website on Facebook and elsewhere.

We are intending on adding more content to the website over the coming months, so do come back regularly. Also if you would like to see something specific that’s not currently live then do let us know.

Banner for Pentecost

Going up on our external notice board at some point this week is a new banner for Pentecost. This is the time when we remember the coming of the Holy Spirit as described in Acts 2, when we pray for the Holy Spirit to come again.

Do come and join us on our various Pentecost events and services this weekend as we pray for a renewing of the Holy Spirit and the peace that only God can give us.
